Our Lakes
And Watershed
SJWD’s primary function is to ensure the availability of adequate water supply to our service area.
SJWD’s lakes and ponds are beautiful recreational assets that benefit Spartanburg County and the surrounding area. While SJWD is proud to share these spaces with the public for leisurely enjoyment, their primary purpose is to serve as a raw water supply to meet the needs of our growing communities.
To protect the reservoirs as a reliable source of drinking water, we have implemented certain policies and procedures. These restrictions are designed to safeguard both the reservoirs and the buffer zones around the lakes owned by SJWD. Your compliance with these policies is essential for the protection of this vital water resource. Please be aware that SJWD will take action against any violations of these rules. Additionally, SJWD employs Lake Wardens to manage the lakes and surrounding properties as well as assist the public while enjoying the lakes. Their office is located at 200 Lyman Lodge Road.
