May 13th, 2026 – The Government Finance Officers Association of the United States and Canada (GFOA) has awarded the Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting to SJWD Water District for its annual comprehensive financial report for the fiscal year ended June 30, 2025. The report has been judged by an impartial panel to meet the high standards of the program, which includes demonstrating a constructive”spirit of full disclosure” to clearly communicate its financial story and motivate potential users and user groups to read the report.

The Certificate of Achievement is the highest form of recognition in the area of governmental accounting and financial reporting, and its attainment represents a significant accomplishment by a government and its management.

“The SJWD Finance team is proud to be recognized with this award for the fifth consecutive year. In a small way, it represents the overall commitment of our organization to be good stewards of the resources we are entrusted with. We are honored to be a part of the growth and success of the communities we serve, ” said Larry Christopher, Chief Financial and Administrative Officer for SJWD.

SJWD joins over 1,900 agencies nationwide that have achieved this recognition—a distinction that reinforces the District’s position as a leader in effective financial planning and customer trust.
